Quantachrome AS1win is a Windows-based instrument control and data analysis application developed by Quantachrome Instruments for its Autosorb series gas sorption analyzers, including the Autosorb-1. It streamlines the acquisition of physisorption and, where applicable, chemisorption data, automates instrument routines, and provides comprehensive tools for calculating surface area and pore structure in porous materials.
Key capabilities:
- Instrument control and method setup: guided experiment configuration, equilibration criteria, leak checks, free-space determination, and degassing routines (as supported by the connected instrument).
- Real-time acquisition and visualization: live isotherm plotting and status monitoring during adsorption/desorption runs.
- Surface area and isotherm models: BET (single- and multi-point), Langmuir, and related transforms and plots.
- Porosity and pore size analysis: t-plot and αs methods for micro/mesopore assessment; BJH (adsorption/desorption) and related mesopore analyses; micropore methods such as Horváth–Kawazoe and Dubinin–Radushkevich/Dubinin–Astakhov; DFT/NLDFT options where available.
- Adsorptive support: libraries for common gases (e.g., N2, Ar, CO2, Kr) and associated parameters such as molecular cross-sectional areas and density corrections.
- Reporting and data handling: customizable reports with tables and graphs, data export in common formats (e.g., CSV/text), and method templates to standardize workflows.
Typical applications include characterization of catalysts, carbons, zeolites, MOFs, and other porous solids in R&D and QA/QC environments.
Note: Specific features and compatibility can depend on the instrument model and software version. For current OS support and upgrades, consult the manufacturer’s documentation. Quantachrome Instruments is now part of Anton Paar.
